Services
Online Coaching with Foundations for Function gives you expert guidance, structure, and accountability—wherever you are. It begins with a deep dive into your current lifestyle, movement patterns, goals, and any limitations. From there, I’ll design a personalised training and nutrition plan to support your needs—whether that’s rehab, mobility, fat loss, muscle building, or simply moving and feeling better day-to-day.
How?
Your full plan is delivered via the Trainerize app, which acts as our coaching hub. It’s where you’ll find all your workouts, exercise demo videos, mobility routines, nutrition targets, progress tracking, and more. You’ll also receive a personal welcome video, walking you through your program and what to expect.

Who am I?
My name is Kian Larney
With a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation and years of experience coaching both athletes and everyday individuals, I’ve built a career around helping people move better, feel stronger, and regain control over their bodies.
I founded Foundations for Function to help clients fix the root causes of pain, prevent injury, and build long-term resilience through smart, functional training.
My career spans elite-level environments — from working with semi-professional football teams like Guiseley FC and U.S. academy RIASA, to coaching at Ultimate Performance, one of the world’s most respected personal training facilities. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a personal touring trainer for Mumford and Sons, supporting their physical performance and recovery throughout global tours.
Whether I’m training a world-class performer, a 50+ year-old business owner, or a young adult just starting their fitness journey, my mission is the same: to deliver tailored, intelligent coaching that supports real, lasting change.
I’ve helped clients overcome chronic mobility issues, regain confidence in movements they once struggled with, and return to pain-free, functional lifestyles — from tying their shoes to keeping up with their kids or taking the stage night after night.
